Dryer Repair in Charlotte, NC

When laundry comes out damp, the drum stops turning, or a dryer starts making an unfamiliar sound, a diagnostic visit can help identify the next step. Appliance Repair Guild handles dryer service requests throughout the Charlotte area.

Inside a dryer service visit

A dryer that turns but does not heat needs a different assessment from one that gets hot but takes too long to dry clothes. Electrical supply, heating components and airflow can all affect drying performance. The photos show service access to a dryer drum and a heating assembly.

The technician identifies the model and fuel type, reviews the symptoms, and checks the relevant components. Depending on the findings, the repair may involve a heating component, thermal protection device or another failed part. We also explain any airflow issue that may be affecting operation. Dryer vent cleaning is not one of our services.

Problems we can assess

• Dryer runs but does not heat normally

• Drum does not turn, or the machine will not start

• Drying cycles take longer than expected

• Squeaking, thumping, rattling, or repeated stopping

A diagnosis before a repair recommendation

Drying performance depends on both the appliance and its airflow. We assess the dryer and explain whether the findings point to an appliance repair or another service need. The repair recommendation depends on the model and inspection.

What to share before the visit

Tell us whether the dryer is gas or electric, share its model number, and describe the problem. Mention whether the machine is stacked or in a tight enclosure. A short video can be useful for a noise complaint.

Diagnostic fee and repair process

The diagnostic fee is $65, waived when you proceed with the repair. After diagnosis, we explain the proposed work and price. Replacement parts carry a 90-day warranty; contact us about a recurring issue so we can review it.

Same-day and next-day appointments may be available. Your dispatcher confirms the actual window. We text 10–30 minutes before arrival.

Common questions

Do you repair electric and gas dryers?

We accept service inquiries for both. Include the fuel type and model when you contact us.

Do you offer dryer-vent cleaning?

We provide appliance repair; dryer-vent cleaning is a separate service we do not offer. If airflow needs attention, we will explain the finding.

Can you give an exact repair price from a noise recording?

A recording helps describe the issue, but the machine needs inspection before the cause and repair price can be confirmed.
